Characteristics of upper extremity recovery in acute flaccid myelitis: a case series. Weber EL, Werner JM, Johnson MB, Kim G, Tiongson E, Ramos-Platt L, and Seruya M. Weber enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog. ![]() When not caring for her patients or researching new treatments, Dr. Her interests include hair follicle regeneration and nerve regeneration. Weber is continuing her research endeavors at Indiana University. Finally, she completed an orthoplastic fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 before joining the IU family.Īs a surgeon-scientist, Dr. She paused her residency for three years to complete a postdoctoral research fellowship, investigating human hair follicle development and ways to enhance hair regeneration for the treatment of hair loss. Weber then completed an internship year in general surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, followed by residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at USC. Her graduate thesis focused on altering the molecular design of viral vectors to reduce the risk of cancer as a side effect of gene therapy treatment. She then completed a combined MD/PhD program at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2009. She attended Rice University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000 with a degree in Biochemistry. Weber grew up in a small town in western Maryland. Her practice is located at Methodist Hospital.ĭr. ![]() Her clinical interest include hand and upper extremity reconstruction and nerve injury, including brachial plexus. Erin Weber joined Indiana University in 2020 and is an Assistant Professor in Plastic Surgery, specializing in hand surgery.
